About Me:

am the intervention specialist for Chickasaw Elementary School. In this role, I serve to assist any child within the school who is in need of support both in the areas of academics as well as behavior. The intervention team at CES is comprised of myself and 3 interventionists who work diligently to identify the area of deficit and then create a personalized program of instruction to help meet the child's needs so that they can be their most successful self. In addition to serving as the school's intervention specialist, I also serve as the school's test coordinator. In this role, I help to ensure that all district and state-level assessments are given with fidelity and in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

I graduated with honors from the University of Memphis in 2006 with a Kindergarten - 8th-grade education degree. I joined DeSoto County Schools in the Fall of 2006 and began as a Spotlight teacher. I returned to the regular education classroom in the 2007-2008 school year as a first-grade teacher at Greenbrook Elementary and in the 2012-2013 school year I joined the team at CES to teach third grade. In the 2015-2016 school year, I moved out of the classroom to begin working as Chickasaw's Intervention Specialist and School Testing Coordinator.
