Hello! My name is Cody Herring, and I am the 2nd Grade Chair here at CES. I am beyond excited to be starting my fourth year at a school that I can truly call home. The classroom is one of my favorite places to be, and I love creating a safe atmosphere for my students to where we can all communicate openly and positively. Speaking of communication, my goal is always to communicate as much as I can about what we are doing in school so that everyone can be successful in my classroom. 

Bio:

I'm so thankful to be back at the school that I attended years ago when I was in 2nd and 3rd grade! I have lived in Olive Branch my entire life, and dreamed of coming back to the schools that inspired me to become a teacher. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 2020. I love all aspects of music and creativity, so expect my classroom to be full of both of those things! I cannot wait to create a great loving environment for my students while they are at school. 

Education:

As I mentioned above, I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, with endorsements in ELA, Social Studies, and SPED. My senior year I represented the University's School of Education program and was awarded with the Mississippi Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (MACTE) Outstanding Intern Award, which recognizes one student teacher with outstanding leadership, professionalism, and service.
