About the Teacher/Welcome Msg

Education

I graduated high school from Central High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  I went to the University of Alabama and received an undergraduate degree in History and English.  I then earned a master's degree in Special Education with emphasis on Learning Disabilities.

Experience

I have taught for 29 years, all in DeSoto County, all in Special Education.  I love Special Education!

Bio

I was married and have 4 children.  Our oldest son, Nicholas, is a graduate of the  University of Memphis with a degree in Business Administration--Supply Chain Management.   Our son, Johnathan, is a graduate of the  University of Southern Mississippi and is now a band director at Columbus High School.  Our daughter, Anna is a junior at the University of Memphis majoring in World Languages---Japanese and Korean and minoring in Criminal Justice.   Our youngest daughter, Abby,  is a junior at Olive Branch High School.  She plays the saxophone and piano and sings. She also is a member of the speech and debate team and does drama as well.  We have grown up and lived in Olive Branch and we love Olive Branch area schools.  Go Quistors!!!

We are active members at Mineral Wells United Methodist Church in Olive Branch.  I play the piano for Sunday morning church services.

I love college football...Alabama is my team!  We go to home games and yell and cheer them on to win.  If I am hoarse on Monday and Tuesday, we can blame the Crimson Tide:)

In an effort to get lose weight, get fit, and be healthier, my husband and I have became avid bikers.   I have biked 5673 miles since 2015.  I average around 75 miles per week.  My longest ride at one time was 65 miles.  I've never been so happy to see the finish line.
